Does a Family Foundation Fit in Your Planning?

by
Stanley A. Smith

Increasingly, families are providing for charities through their estate plans. Rather than simply providing for one time direct charitable gifts which are funded at one's passing, clients are seeing the benefit of directing a charitable bequest to a family charitable foundation that could potentially last for many years and perhaps many generations. Such a foundation could be run by the creator's family and provide a great means for developing and promoting charitable giving by the family. If you would like to know more about how a family foundation may fit into your estate plan, please contact any member of the Rhoads & Sinon Trusts and Estate Group.
