Kathleen D. Bruder Kathleen D. Bruder is a member of the Firm's employment and labor practice. Ms. Bruder represents management clients in both public and private sectors, ranging from counseling to litigation and labor negotiations. Her experience includes litigating on behalf of corporations and public entities in federal and state courts and administrative agencies in all aspects of employment-related litigation, including employment discrimination, sexual harassment and wrongful discharge. Ms Bruder's experience also includes arbitrating labor-management disputes under collective bargaining agreements, representing clients as the chief negotiator in labor negotiations and advising and representing clients with all phases of union certification and decertification. Ms. Bruder regularly assists human resources personnel by advising them on their day-to-day issues, including the hiring and discharge of employees and compliance with various local, state, and federal statutes such as Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act and the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act, as well as labor and employment laws in other states such as New York and New Jersey where she is also licensed to practice. In addition to specializing in labor and employment law, Ms. Bruder also regularly counsels and practices in the area of higher education law. Prior to joining Rhoads & Sinon, Ms. Bruder was associate counsel with a national health insurance company where she was responsible for in-house labor and employment law-related matters. Before joining this employer, Ms. Bruder worked for the City of Harrisburg as the in-house Labor Attorney and Human Resources Director after serving as Deputy City Solicitor. EDUCATION
