Paul J. Bruder, Jr. Paul Bruder is a member of the firm's Litigation Department and chair of the firm’s Environmental and Land Use Practice Group. He focuses his practice in the areas of environmental law and litigation, environmental compliance counseling, land use and real estate development, commercial and construction litigation, and general civil litigation. Prior to joining Rhoads & Sinon LLP, Mr. Bruder served as an attorney with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, where he represented the Commonwealth in litigation involving mining operations, clean water and water supply management, sewage facilities, waste disposal, and site remediation. As a member of Rhoads & Sinon, Mr. Bruder represents clients in all facets of environmental law, litigation, and compliance counseling. A leading figure in Pennsylvania on issues involving Pennsylvania's Land Recycling and Environmental Remediation Standards Act (Act 2), Mr. Bruder has significant experience with these issues, and speaks regularly throughout Pennsylvania on land recycling and remediation topics. Mr. Bruder has represented clients in negotiating Buyer-Seller Agreements and Special Industrial Area Agreements, and in obtaining Act 2 Liability Protection for a variety of cleanup standards. Representative projects include development of contaminated areas for residential use, commercial development, or re-use of abandoned industrial property, as well as representing property owners whose property has been contaminated by a third party. In addition to his environmental law practice, Mr. Bruder is experienced in and practices general and commercial litigation, including construction litigation, and represents developers and property owners with respect to lane use and development options. Mr. Bruder has represented clients in matters on all judicial levels, including the Environmental Hearing Board, the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court and other state appellate courts, and federal court in environmental and other matters.
